Final Ozzy, Sabbath Show Boxed For December Release

Ozzy Osbourne’s final bow will get a permanent place on fans’ shelves this holiday season. Ozzy Osbourne & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning, documenting the landmark July 5, 2025, concert at Birmingham, England’s Villa Park, will be out Dec. 11 from Republic on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, CD, vinyl and digital formats. Pre-orders are live, as is a performance of the Osbourne solo classic “Mr. Crowley.”
Coming just 17 days before his death, the concert marked the final live performances of Osbourne as well as Black Sabbath, whose original lineup of Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward played together for the first time in more than 20 years. The sold-out show drew more than three million ticket requests for 44,000 available seats, bringing together such hard rock staples as Metallica, Guns n’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Anthrax, Gojira and Mastodon, among others.

The show was hosted by Jason Momoa and overseen musically by Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. The film includes Jack Black performing “Mr. Crowley” and Fred Durst taking on “Changes,” alongside behind-the-scenes footage, tributes from artists and celebrities including Dolly Parton and AC/DC and the documentary Sounds of Birmingham.
“Back to the Beginning was a once-in-a-lifetime event that will go down in music history,” says Ozzy’s widow Sharon Osbourne, who oversaw the concert and executive-produced the film. “Ozzy suffered from chronic pain during the final six years of his life. His only wish was to perform one last time to thank his fans and say goodbye.”
Directed for the screen by Ben Wainwright-Pearce, with the concert directed by Tim van Someren, the three-and-a-half-hour film is presented in Dolby Atmos, Dolby 2.1 and 5.1. Physical editions include a two-disc Blu-ray/CD set and two-LP vinyl, with limited-edition colored vinyl variants available through Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s stores as well as specialty retailers.
For collectors who want to go big, a deluxe boxed set is due April 23. The expanded package includes three Blu-rays, two CDs, three heavyweight vinyl LPs, a 72-page hardcover book featuring interviews and photographs, an Osbourne pendant necklace, a numbered certificate of authenticity and a film poster art print. Its bonus disc includes all 35 Osbourne and Black Sabbath songs performed at Back to the Beginning.
Earlier this month, Osbourne was further saluted with the Tania Alexander-directed Paramount+ documentary OZZY: NO ESCAPE FROM NOW, which chronicled the last years of his life. A second Osbourne memoir, Last Rites, was released the same day.
