After featuring director Martin Scorsese on the cover of her latest album, Music, Fashion, Film, Charli xcx is now set to appear in his next movie.

According to Variety, the artist will serve in an as-yet-unspecified role in What Happens at Night, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence as a married American couple attempting to adopy a baby in a small European town. Apple and StudioCanal are producing; no release date has been announced. Other cast members include Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson and Jared Harris.

More from Spin:

Charli xcx has spent the past two years immersed in the film world, having starred in the mockumentary The Moment, Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex and the upcoming Natalie Portman-starring thriller The Gallerist. She enlisted Scorsese for the cover Music, Fashion, Film alongside the Velvet Underground’s John Cale and fashion designer Marc Jacobs, apparently to represent each aspect of the title.

“Just to have these three legends in this room being willing to come together for this album cover … it was really cool,” she said this summer. “It felt quite magical, and not something that I think I’ll ever really experience again.” The artist is winding down her latest North American arena tour tonight (Oct. 23) in Las Vegas. European shows will follow in February.

As for Scorsese, What Happens at Night extends his fruitful collaboration with DiCaprio, last seen in 2025’s Killers of the Flower Moon. The film earned 10 Oscar nominations but did not win any.
